THE IRONY THAT IS SOCIAL NETWORKING AT A GLANCE...BY @BOBBYLIGHT4REAL



EVERYDAY WE ALL LOG ONTO OUR CHOICE OF SOCIAL NETWORK(S) TWITTER, FACEBOOK, ETC... THE COMMON MANTRA IS "IT'S ONLY FOR ENTERTAINMENT" OR "IT'S NOT REAL LIFE" YET DAILY WE ALL SEE PEOPLE EXHIBIT BEHAVIORS THAT SHOW IT'S MORE THAN JUST ENTERTAINMENT TO THEM AND IN MANY CASES THAT IT IN FACT IS REAL LIFE. I FIND IT HILARIOUS THAT PEOPLE TALK ABOUT THE PHONY, LIARS, FRONTERS AND THE LIKES BUT AT THE SAME TIME SAY THAT IT ISN'T "REAL LIFE" WHICH WOULD MORE OR LESS IN MY OPINION MAKE IT THE PERFECT ENVIRONMENT TO CREATE AND PROMOTE THESE FALSEHOODS AND FALLACIES THAT PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT DAILY OR AT LEAST LEAVE ONE TO THINK SO, RIGHT?? SO THE FACT THAT PEOPLE EXPECT PEOPLE TO "KEEP IT REAL" ON THESE SOCIAL NETWORKS WOULD IN FACT MEAN THAT IT IS REAL LIFE BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT YOU'RE ASKING PEOPLE TO PRESENT..."THE REAL".  THEN THERE IS THE GREAT OPINION DEBATE LOL EVERYONE IS OPINIONATED AND IT'S ALWAYS FINE AND GOOD UNTIL THEY DISAGREE WITH SOMEBODY ELSE'S OPINION...THEN THEY ARGUE AS IF IT'S FACTS VERSUS LIES, FORGETTING THAT THE KEY WORK IS "OPINION". EVERY ONE HAS THEIR OWN VIEWS AND OPINIONS ON ANY SUBJECT YOU COULD NAME SO THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG PER SE IN THESE SITUATIONS BUT THEY'LL ARGUE YOU DOWN TO TELL YOU THAT YOU'RE "OPINION" IS WRONG....ANOTHER FAVORITE IS THE "I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYBODY THINKS" ATTITUDE, YET THAT SAME PERSON WHO SAYS THAT WILL GO ON A BLITZKREIG OF TWEETS FOR 1, 2 OR 3 HOURS EXPLAINING HOW THEY DON'T CARE BUT THE FACT THAT YOU TOOK THE TIME TO GO ON YOUR TIRADE SHOWS HOW MUCH THEY IN FACT DO CARE......THERE'S A NUMBER OF SCENARIOS AND EXAMPLES THAT COULD BE LISTED AND THIS BLOG COULD GO ON FOREVER BUT THOSE ARE JUST A FEW BRIEF POINTS THAT LEAD BACK TO THE TITLE OF THIS POST....THE IRONY THAT IS SOCIAL NETWORKING AT A GLANCE

UNDERLYING MESSAGES IN THE MUSIC....BENNY MARDONES-INTO THE NIGHT

SO I CAME ACROSS THIS SONG A FEW YEARS BACK...AT FIRST IT JUST SOUNDED LIKE A DOPE SONG BUT AFTER SEVERAL LISTENS THEN, AND ALSO NOW THAT THEY PLAY THIS PRETTY REGULARLY AT MY JOB NOW THERE IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MESSAGE THAN WHAT IT INITIALLY SEEMS LIKE...HERE YOU HAVE WHAT WAS A BIG HIT BACK IN ITS ERA BY BENNY MARDONES WHO WHEN YOU LOOK DEEPER INTO THE LYRICS IS ACTUALLY SINGING ABOUT HIS STRUGGLE WITH STAYING AWAY FROM A 16YEAR OLD GIRL!!! HIP HOP & ETC.. IS CRITICIZED A LOT FOR MISOGYNIST LYRICS AND THE LIKES BUT THIS RECORD IS COMPLETE PEDOPHILIA BUT YET WENT ON AS A HIT RECORD...SAD BUT TRUE....TAKE A LISTEN AND SEE IF YOU PICK UP ON IT

THROWBACK OF THE DAY:NEW EDITION- IF IT ISN'T LOVE

NEW ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: DA KENNEL










Hot on the tail of the radio success of the new 
single "Dat's What I Do" featuring Travis Porter, which currently sits at 
number #48 on the Urban Radio Charts, Da Kennel has released a new viral 
video to increase the single's growing popularity.

Directed by BANK! and shot in their hometown of Akron, Ohio, Da Kennel is 
certain that this video will catapult the record to new heights and adds 
legs to their country wide movement.

Kennel member Mage explains: "We knew from the beginning how important it 
would be to quickly partner the single with a visual. At this point, 
everyone has been waiting for the video and we had to give our fans what 
they wanted. So, we shot it in a couple a days in our city and this is what 
came out of it."


Hailing from Akron, Ohio, Da Kennel is determined to put their city on map. As a nine -man collective compiled of 6 rappers and 3 in house producers, they have the breeding ground for something real and worth the listen. Bringing the heat with their scorching lyrics and tracks, they offer up a pool of talented individuals all focused on the progression of one sound. Already drawing comparisons to other all male collectives like the St. Lunatics, Wu Tang, and Slaughterhouse, Da Kennel looks forward to setting themselves a part and showcasing their talent.

Although the guys have known each for years, Da Kennel didn’t become official until a few years ago. While Unknown, Mage, Gram Citi, Skillz McNeilla, Kuntry, and Leland Ray bring out the groups lyricism; Dat Boi Pizz, Rip Rugga, and J.C. provide the music that allows them to showcase the bark and the bite that makes them Da Kennel.

Currently backed by Elite Music LLC, the release of their new mixtape Hood II Hood is due to give the streets exactly what they’ve been looking for.  With their new single “Model” continuing to receive spins and ads across the region and in the South, Da Kennel is positioned to aggressively stake their claim in the industry.
